2016 income $31k, 2017 $35k -- 2016 ss =21250 17 = 22908 -- Fwh 2016 $5886 & 2017 $7265 -- refund 2016 $640 but owe $88 this year. Seems odd
Emp income went up 4K and ss went up 1700 and wh increased 1500

It makes it easier if you keep it all on one post/question.
In your last question, you said you had $5932 of Federal withholding, now you are saying $7265. Why the difference?
If it was $5932 of Federal withholding, everything still sounds about right. Between the $4000 of extra W-2 income and $1400 of taxable Social Security increase, that is about a difference in $800 in taxes.

@2015nhhmtx Please look at your two actual returns side by side. They will tell you how much of your Soc Sec was taxable each year. Did you have any other income, such as interest or dividends?

Please keep your related post in one thread,
Your "other" income went up in 2017, so the percent of your SS that is taxable did as well.
