I drove for uber and made less than $200.00 the last year and I guess I have to put it on my taxes, but I don't really want to pay $60 when I won't be getting any back.
So I was told if I don't make more than $599.00 I won't have to file..But then I received a letter in my mail from Uber with how much I made this last year, it was under $200.00. In order for me to be able to give the IRS that information with you guys I have to upgrade for $60.00...But it's kinda pointless since I won't be getting anything back this year for it since I didn't do it for very long. Any alternative?
Thanks
Thanks

No, there's no limit. You report all the income you earned as a self-employed individual.
There is a certain
amount you have to make before you are issued (or issue) a 1099-K form
however. You must have made at least $20,000 or more before any 1099-K form is
issued to you.
As a driver for Uber, you should receive a 1099-K but only if the income earned was over the reporting limits for those forms...which is $20,000 for the 1099-K. However, just because you didn't reach those levels, you still must report that income to the IRS. The cost of the upgrade can be written off next year as a business expense.
