If I download the 2018 software, will it allow me to complete my 2019 taxes?

I would like to download the 2018 software. I also have to complete my 2019 taxes. Will there be a discount for the 2019 version if I purchase the 2018 software? Does it autoupdate with a fee?

no. each year's software can only be used to prepare that year's return. For 2019 you can use the online softwware.
