Enterring RMD for 401k that both husband and wife draw from and have two 1099Rs.

If RMD for 401k has to be taken between my two parents; should I claim 100% of it against one of their 1099-Rs or split evenly across the two?  They are filing married jointly.

Each person must take their own RMD for their personal accounts. The RMD does not have to be from each account but must cover the RMD for all accounts, for that person.

Example Dad: Has 3 accounts, account 1 has RMD of $2,000, account 2 has RMD of $1,500 and account 3 has RMD of $4,000. Total RMD is $7,500. It can be taken from one, two or three accounts in any amount as long as the total is $7,500.

Example for Mom: same thing for all her accounts.
