I have income that needs to appear under "Gross Receipts or Sales" section of Schedule C. Do I put that in"additional income" under self-employment income & expenses?

Yes. In Turbo Tax any income not reported to you on a 1099 goes in "Additional income and other Income". This will become Gross Receipts.
