In order to file as head of household, you must be single and have a qualifying child. Once you've entered your child's information, then Turbo Tax will ask you the question, Did you pay more than half the cost to keep up your home in 2016?. You must be able to answer yes to this question, to qualify for head of household. Please view the Turbo Tax FAQ below for more information about the head of household filing status.
