Why do I need to have a Form 1099-int if I had no interest income?

I can't progress to e-file without filling out the Form 1099-int. I don't have a 1099-int because I didn't have interest income. And it won't let me direct deposit when I try to file by mail.

It sounds to me you might have filed a Form 1099-INT last year.  In order to proceed without any errors, I would suggest you to remove the form from the program.

To delete the Form 1099-INT in the TurboTax Premier online version, here are the steps:

  • Sign in to your account, select Pick up where you left off
  • Select My Account (top of the screen)click on the drop-down arrow
  • Select Tools
  • Under Other helpful links, choose to Delete a form
  • Select Delete next to the Form 1099-INT and Continue with My Return
