Can they do this? I was expecting what I was told I was getting back not what they deposited. How can they change my refund on me?

Get your taxes done using TurboTax
"Accepted" is an efile term used soon after submitting the return. It means the efiled return met the proper format such that the state could begin processing the return. It is an efile status, not a refund status.
If your state lowered the amount of your refund, they should send you a letter in about 3 weeks explaining why and telling you steps you can take if you disagree.
You may be able to phone your state tax agency before then, however, and see if they can tell you why they lowered it.
