You will want the W-2 to reflect the proper person. See steps to edit below:
Since you mention you are preparing a tax return for 2017, there for you must be using a CD/Download version of TurboTax. When filing a joint return, there is an option to say whose W-2 is being entered near the top of the W-2 entry screen. See sample screenshot. Therefore, you will want to go back to the W-2 entry section and edit the W-2 to select to which of you the W-2 belongs.
Steps to be brought back to W-2 entry section:
- Search for W-2 in the Find option at the right hand top of the screen and select the Jump to link.
- Select Work on my W-2 now and Continue.
- If you've already entered a W-2, select the EDIT button for the W-2 you need to change.
