IRA Distribution Adjustments

Hi

Do I need to enter an adjustment when filing my CA state taxes or do I skip this question?  Box 16 is blank on my 1099-R and Box 1 has my yearly withdrawal amount. My distribution code is a 7 and I withheld state taxes on my withdrawal amount.  Doesn't TT already know my distribution amount is the same as my federal distribution amount?

Thanks

Yes, if state tax was withheld and reported in box 14, you have to enter a state distribution amount in box 16 that is at least as much as the amount in box 14.  If box 16 is blank, enter the amount in Box 1, unless there is an amount in Box 2a, in which case use that amount.
