If you chose to have the federal taxes owed paid by direct debit from your bank account and the tax return was rejected by the IRS, then no information was received by the IRS concerning your payment.

You need to correct the error on the tax return and e-file again.  When the tax return is accepted by the IRS your payment information will also be included.  The IRS will debit your account for the taxes owed.
