Tax Year Prior to 2020: I received a settlement for a work comp injury-Is this settlement money considered income and can I include it on my taxes to get EIC and Child tax credit?

In most cases, Workers' Compensation Benefits are not taxable income.  Please see IRS Taxable and Non-Taxable Income   for more details.

Also, you will need earned income to claim those tax credits.  Unfortunately, Workers' Compensation is not considered to be earned income.
