Mt tax guy has not answered me and the deadline is approaching. Is it okay to get an extension and maybe still submit my taxes before midnight?

Yes. You should prepare the extension in TurboTax and mail it before 11:59 pm midnight for it to be considered received on time by the Internal Revenue Service and your state's taxing agency if a separate extension is required by your state.
