There is no given amount for a dependent.   You get a $4,050 exemption for each dependent, but that is not a refund, it lowers your taxable income, but not lower than zero so if your taxable income was already low, the adding a dependent might not change much if anything.   You mighty also qualify for the child tax credit and or EIC again depending on the circumstances and amount of income.

The only way to know is to enter everything and then review the tax return.
