Help with federal rejection on efile

if your return has been rejected, it means it has gone nowhere.  you should check the error codes associated with the rejection.  one of the most common causes is identity theft or someone claiming you as their dependent.
Other errors might be an incorrectly typed EIN numbers from the W2 or other income documents, or name and social security number mismatch.  If you cannot find the reason, you may need to mail in your return .
