Finishing an Estate

I am closing up an Estate of my father and I am the executor. I had filed 1041s for 2021,2022,2023 as the estate had income. For this tax year 2024 there is no income only distributions to beneficiarys. I plan to close the estate as I told the courts there would be no tax liability for the year. If I close the estate, can I still file in 2025 as normal. Or would I not be able to as I am no longer the court appointed executor since the estate is closed? Do I need to leave the estate open so I can file the final return?

Finishing an Estate

You can file the final return and actually should do so after the estate is closed.
