Filing both the late 2022 tax return and 2023 tax

I'm mailing a late 2022 tax return April 15, 2024. Can I efile my 2023 return on the same day or should I wait and put the 2023 on extension for a week to give time for the 2022 tax return to arrive at the IRS?
