Can I enter employment income, withholdings from a W-2, plus federal taxes I paid to the IRS into a Canadian tax return?
Doing Canadian tax return for my daughter, who is a US citizen with Canadian permanent residency. She worked in the US all of 2018. I need help taking data from the W2 that is relevent to Canadian taxes to report her income, and claim the foreign tax credit in the Canadian return. Specifically, the wages in BOX 1; federal tax withheld; FICA withheld; State Tax; and an amount with an "SDI" after it in BOX "14. Other". Also, she paid federal tax owed to the IRS after her US return was done, but there was a refund from California state. TurboTax community on the Canadian side offered limited help. They're not that familiar with the W-2, so they referred us for help here. Please advise and thanks in advance. J
