No that will not work. When you purchase the desktop download, you are permitted to use it on computers that YOU own---not on computers owned by other people scattered in other states, etc. If your sons want to share their information with you and allow YOU to prepare their tax returns for them using your software on YOUR computer, that is fine. Since they are in other states, be mindful that when you purchase the desktop software it will come with the software program for ONE state of your choosing. Additional state programs for other states will cost about $40 each to download. There is always a state e-file fee. You can avoid the state e-file fee if you print and mail the state return.
