If my daughter is a college student and started working a part time job and she lives at home with her married parents full time, do I claim her? Does she need to do anything on her end for taxes? Does she need to file taxes?

To be a dependent, a qualifying child must meet certain criteria:
For tax year 2024, if your daughter made less than $13,850, there is no need to file income taxes; however,
if her job took out withholding amounts she would want to file to get that money back in refunds.
NOTE: if she does file, she will need to check the box on the 1040 return under Standard Deduction "Someone can claim You as a dependent". (She will still get her refunds.)
