The system checks that the addresses entered are correct and gets an error when the information does not match. Here are a few things you could check:
- Try entering the zip code with and without the last 4 digits
- Try deleting the form and entering it again (see below for instructions on how to do it)
- Double check with the company that issued to see if the address on your form is correct
- If it all fails, send us a message back with the address and we can try troubleshooting it with you
To delete a form 1099-R do it from within your return
- Search for the form name in the search bar (for example, W-2)
- Select the Jump to link in the search results to get to the summary screen
- Select the trash can icon to delete.
To enter it again, you can do it from the same section you are currently at after deleting it or:
- Open or continue your return.
- In the Federal section, select Wages & Income.
- Scroll to locate Retirement Plans and Social Security.
- Select Start or Revisit next to IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R).
