In the File section of the TurboTax online editions on Step 2, select See all refund options. Then select Paper Check to have the refund mailed to you as a check.
However, if you selected to have the TurboTax account fees paid from your federal tax refund in Step 1 of the File section then you need to revisit Step 1 and select to pay the account fees with a credit card.
The TurboTax Free online edition is for very simple tax returns that do not require any other form or schedule other than the Form 1040. If your tax data requires entry on any other form or schedule then you must upgrade to the Deluxe edition or higher.
If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2023 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.

Hi, based on your post, you have fees for tax preparation and filing. And, you would like to receive your refund(s) by check in mail.
If you have Turbo Tax fees for preparing and filing your tax returns, changing to paper file or changing to refund check by mail will not remove the fees owed to Turbo Tax.
The fees must be paid before your can e-file or before you can print the return to mail.
If you want to have your refund sent by check in mail follow the steps below:
Once you have completed your return preparation and your are in checkout, you have 3 steps to complete
1. Pay Turbo Tax Fees (you must pay these fees to file or print and mail your return)
2. Select refund or payment method for federal and state. (If you have a refund coming, choose paper check in step 2)
3. Sign and file or print your return to mail
