Due to an error, your New Mexico Refundable Child Income Tax Credit was overstated on your state income tax return. The New Mexico Tax and Revenue Department has corrected the error and issued adjustment notices.

To determine if the state adjustment is correct, please follow the steps below:

  • Open your return using TurboTax. If using TurboTax desktop, be sure to check for any updates and run them.

  • Review the New Mexico refund/balance due amount and see if the adjusted amount matches the correspondence from New Mexico Tax and Revenue Department. You can also access the information through the Taxpayer Access Point (TAP).

    • If the amounts agree, no further action is required.

    • If the amounts do not agree, contact us at 844-333-2161 (5 AM to 9 PM PT, 7 days a week). When you speak with a TurboTax expert, mention 2025 NM Refundable Child Income Tax Credit so they can best assist you.
