I got a CP2000 notice from the IRS
by TurboTax•89• Updated 1 month ago
If you got a notice from the IRS, don't worry. We'll do our best to help you figure out what to do next.
The CP2000 notice means that the income and payment information the IRS has on file for you doesn't match the information you reported in your return.
You'll need to:
- Carefully read your notice
- Complete the notice response form (if there isn't one, just follow the instructions)
If the information is wrong, contact the person or business reporting it and ask them to correct it and provide the IRS with the updated information.
