How do I amend my 2021 return to claim the Georgia Child and Dependent Care Credit?

by TurboTax45 Updated about 13 hours ago

There’s a possibility that some of our Georgia customers overpaid their 2021 state taxes because they didn’t claim the Child and Dependent Care Credit.

To find out if you’re owed an additional refund, first check your originally filed paper or PDF copy of your return. Then, sign in to the same TurboTax account you used to file your return. If your refund/balance due amount is different than what's on your original return, we recommend you amend your state tax return.

Select your version of TurboTax for step-by-step instructions:

  1. Write down the original refund or balance due amount for your Georgia income taxes. We recommend you check the paper/PDF copy of your return or your banking records to verify the correct amount.
  2. Sign in to the same TurboTax account you used to prepare your 2021 return.
  3. In Tax Home, scroll down to Your tax returns & documents, and choose 2021. Select Amend (change) return and then select Amend Using TurboTax Online.
