How do I amend my 2024 Massachusetts state tax return to fix the Septic Credit?
Some Massachusetts TurboTax customers have underpaid their state taxes due to an error with the Massachusetts Septic Credit.
If we notified you, we recommend you review your state return and amend it as soon as possible to avoid additional penalties and interest on the unpaid balance.
To correct your return, please follow the steps below.
Use TurboTax to amend your state tax return.
Enter “TO CORRECT SEPTIC CREDIT” as the reason for amending.
Follow the instructions provided by TurboTax to print, sign and date the amended state tax return. The amended return will need to be mailed to the address provided with the instructions along with any balance due if applicable.
Save a copy of your amended state tax return for your records.
