You can choose to remove your phone number from your account at any time. However, removing your phone number isn't recommended (unless you no longer have access to it) for the following reasons:
- Your phone number is used to keep your account safe. Whenever there is a suspicious sign in, your phone will be used to prove your identity. Removing it may make your account more vulnerable.
- If your account has 2-step verification turned on, removing your phone number will turn off 2-step verification and remove this layer of protection from you account.
- Intuit only uses your phone for security purposes and never shares it with other parties without your consent.
If you recently changed your phone number, consider updating your phone number on file instead.
