I got mail from my state saying that my income tax return was changed (went from $824 to $606). Turbotax has my return as "Accepted" for the $824. Now what do I do?

I recently moved from Maine to California. This issue is on my Maine tax return. I got mail saying it was changed but nothing specific is mentioned outside of "This is the new amount". I filed my tax return on Turbotax a couple months ago and it was accepted. I never recieved my Maine state tax because of the change. Do I need to completely refile my Maine tax with turbotax? The mail says nothing about what I'm supposed to do and the Google algorithm overwrites all my searches with other more common problems that are specifically not this. Thank you in advance to anybody that can help!

You do not need to refile a tax return.  The "Accepted" status that TurboTax sends indicates only that your tax return is in proper "order".  That status does not confirm that the refund amount has been approved by the state.

Both state and federal taxing authorities have the power to adjust your refund based on a number of items.  This is often called an "offset", and part or all of your refund can be held to satisfy the reason for the offset.  See the TurboTax FAQ linked below that explains some of the common reasons for an offset.

As SuperUser Zbucklyo suggested in the answer above, you can contact the Main DOR for clarification.
