Is TurboTax deleting my tax forms in Back accounts during importing?

I know it sounds impossible, but I can't find my tax forms in my Fidelity account anymore after trying to import to Turbotax and the import failed as well.

Is it possible that this is a severe bug from Turbotax side? Anymore else seeing the same problem?

Call Fidelity customer service and see if they can find them.  They can look directly at your accounts while you are on the phone.

I will, but I believe this is a problem from the TurboTax side which they need to fix, since I encounter the same problem with Discover

First you need to see if they are really gone.  I've never seen anyone make that claim, but there are a way lot of forum questions that I haven't seen.   I can't see how TurboTax would have any kind of write privileges in your financial accounts.

Discover has 24x7 support, so you could reach them this weekend.   Fidelity you may not be able to reach until Monday.

TurboTax Support is open later today, but they're going to ask you to first check with Fidelity and Discover since they can't check on your accounts there.

Watch for additional comments in this thread during the day today.

TurboTax does not have access to the tax forms that you see when you log in to your Fidelity or Discover account. When you import your tax information from a financial institution, TurboTax gets the information from a special file that the financial institution creates specifically for importing into TurboTax.

If you cannot see your tax forms you might be looking in the wrong place, or you might have more than one account and are logged in to the wrong account. (Do you have an account for a 401(k) or other employee benefits account that is separate from your personal investment account? An employee benefits account with only tax-deferred investments would not have any tax forms.) I also see that there is a warning on the Fidelity web site that you might not be able to see your tax forms if you are using a browser that they do not support.

Fidelity also has 24/7 support. The people who work on the weekend might not be the top people, but they should be able to help you find your tax forms.

Thanks for the reply! I'm able to see the tax forms again in Fidelity and Discover today and the import succeeded, not sure what happened last night. Maybe TurboTax did a hot patch and fixed this problem.

We're not going to know why you were temporarily unable to find your 1099 forms at your institutions' websites.  Maybe your institutions do server maintenance on weekend nights like mine does.  In any case, we're glad you can find the forms again in your institutions' accounts and that you successfully imported them.
