I accidentally put my spouse as a dependent and now she cant get her return, how can she file her own return while my amendment is being processed.

She can mail her return in. She will not be able to Efile until your amendment is finished.

She can mail her return in. She will not be able to Efile until your amendment is finished.

Actually, that won't happen in time (including IRS processing time) for e-filing this year.  This year she will have to file a paper return.

Yes, that will be best. But the IRS will then look into the dependent on your return and reconcile and be able to send her return. She can still receive direct deposit to speed things up!
