I mailed my federal and state return in one envelope to my state address. Is there any chance they sent the federal return to the right address?

I mailed in my federal tax return to the state filing address. Do they forward it on or do they just trash it? Will I be penalized for a late submission when I did actually submit on time?

To be safe, you should print your federal return again and mail it to the correct IRS address.  There is no late penalty if you are due a refund.

"Is there any chance they sent the federal return to the right address? "   None whatsoever.    Many states want a copy of the Federal return so they will just attach to to the state return.
