Do I need to change my e-file status? I owe taxes but they have not been deducted from my bank, what should I do?

I owe both Federal & State taxes. I e-filed but the money has not been deducted from my bank account yet. State was to be paid March 1st and Federal paid April 15th. Is there something I need to do to make sure they get paid without penalties?

The first thing to do is to check the status of your e-filed returns.  Unless the e-file is accepted by the IRS or State, they won't deduct the funds.

Here's where you can quickly check your e-file status:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

If both returns show a status of accepted, you'll want to go back into TurboTax and print a copy of your return.  When printing a copy of your return, there's a cover sheet that displays the option selected for paying your balance due.  Confirm that has the correct direct debit info (account information, amount, & date of withdrawal).
