Return rejected, my daughter accidentally selected No to me claiming her as a dependent but has amended it and mailing it in. Can I still E-file after hers is amended?

Return was rejected.  My daughter has amended her return to reflect her being claimed by me as a dependent. Please confirm the following.

I have two choices:

1) in order to E-file, I have to delete her as a dependent (forgoing the exemption refund) or;

2) IF I want to claim her still, I need to print and Mail in and it will take 6-8 weeks to process?

In addition to those two, you have a 3rd choice:  File an extension and wait for your daughter's amended return to be processed.  Once it has been processed by the IRS you should be able to e-file your return.  If you choose to do this, be sure to pay any tax you owe on, or before April 15.  An extension is only for the return itself, and not for the tax due.  If you are expecting a refund, it will probably be quicker to print and mail your return.
