If you are referring to 2018 property taxes, here are the information:

If you have already filed, you cannot go back and fix right away, unfortunately.  You have to wait until your return is either rejected or approved.

If it's rejected, you can return to the program to edit the information while fixing the error.

If your return is approved, you would need to amend ONLY IF editing the property tax information changes your original refund amount or tax due.  ( Your refund might stay the same as the new standard deductions has been doubled and it's harder to itemize this year).  To see if you need to amend, click here 2018 Amend.  Follow the instructions in the program and it will tell you.  If you do need to amend, wait until your return is fully processed and you have received your refund or your payment has cleared.

If you have not filed, here are the steps (online):

  • After sign in to your account, select Take me to my return
  •  At the right upper corner, in the search box, type in real estate taxes then Enter
  • Select Jump to real estate taxes
  • Follow prompts to edit
