My son's college expenses are completely paid for by NYS. We receive a 1098-T for his TAP but I'm unsure how or if I need to enter this.

Our son's tuition, books, travel, etc is all covered by a NYS grant for students with disabilities (ADHD in his case).  We have NO expenses relating to his schooling.  We receive a 1098-T for the TAP from NYS that he is required to take and goes directly against his tuition.  I am unsure how or if I need to enter this information on our taxes.  When I get to the question, Did you have any higher education expenses in 2018, do I choose "no"?  And then remove the 1098-T information from our taxes?

Yes, if you had NO out of pocket expenses for your son's college tuition, books, etc, you should choose "NO" to the question "Did you have any higher education expenses in 2018?".  You do not need to include any information from the 1098-T so you can remove it from your taxes.
