I received the child tax credit to make my tax liability zero but did not get the remaining Additional Child Tax Credit. I have 5 children and in the 50k salary range.

turbo site says: For example, let's say you qualify for the full $2,000 Child Tax Credit but your tax liability for the year is only $750. You'd get $750 back from the Child Tax Credit (the amount needed to reduce your tax liability to $0) and the remaining $1,250 as the Additional Child Tax Credit. My child tax credit is 2,268 but I see nothing for the Additional Child Tax Credit?

The refundable part of the Child Tax Credit ("Additional Child Tax Credit) is based on the amount of "earned" income (such as wages on a W-2 or profit from self-employment) that you have.

If you don't have any "earned" income, you don't qualify for it.

Have you previewed the 1040?   Tax Tools > View Summary > Preview 1040   It automatically computes so it may already be accounted for. in your refund.

Also, I raised my income up to 75k and it continued to raise the child tax credit to match the taxes due. So, I am not sure why the 1.4k is not becoming refundable.

If memory serves you may need more than 1 child to get the actc, I don't have the program open in front f me to double check this.

You say you have $50,000 of salary.  Is that on a W-2?

With $50,000 of salary resulting in only $750 in tax liabity, that means you either have high Itemized deduction or some other types of tax credits.  If you have other tax credits, EXACTLY what credits are they (give as much detail as possible).

That $750 was a quote from TurboTax to explain the credit. I made 50k and being married means only 25k is taxable due to the 25k standard deduction. That leaves me with $2268 in taxes. After the tax credit for 5 children it seems I should be due a refund.

As I asked before, is that $50,000 from a W-2?

Sorry, it was 16k from rental income and 30k from misc (disability settlement - misc), 2.6k from interest and 1k in refund from state. All of my children meet req. yes to SSN, lived in US, and all my children are under 17. My deductions were 2.2k child tax credit, $45 student loan and 24k standard deduction. thanks for the help
