No, you don't need to show that on your US taxes. Here is why:

If April 2018 is the first time when you enter the US, you are a dual-state alien.

From January to April, you will file as a nonresident only report any US source income hence nothing from India needs to be reported.

From May to December, you are a resident and will report worldwide income including your income from India for that period of time if there is any.

To file as a dual status, here is the information:

 1. From January to April, you will file a Form 1040-NR to report any US source income if there is any. You can use Sprintax or download from IRS website 1040NR.
 2. From May to December, you will file as a resident with TurboTax reporting worldwide income. You cannot e-file but must paper-file
 3. To submit both Form 1040 and 1040NR together, see DualStatus under What and Where To File for a Dual-Status Year

Because we don't support the 1040NR. To submit both forms, you would need to paper file. See the attached blue link DualStatus.

the link is pointing to 1040NR 2017, I hope the same form also works for 2018. Also can I use the turbotax to prepare the 1040 2018, and take the printout and then file separetly, which would mean I use turbotax for doing all the calculations, else my turbotax will get wasted which I bought

It is for 2018. Try agiain : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040nr.pdf. Yes, you can use TT to prepare form 1040.

what do you mean by upload ? You don't need to register with IRS. You basically print out both Form 1040 and NR and mail them together.
