Mortgage Payoff date - cannot find where to put that.

I had a 2nd mortgage to finish my basement; it was secured but was not a line of credit (HELOC). I refinanced the home after a couple of years to consolidate the two loans into one mortgage. On the screen: Additional Info About Your Mortgage, it states: "What was your outstanding balance at the end of 2018 (or the payoff date if applicable)?" Then a field for Ending Mortgage Balance. I cannot put a date into that. So I put $0. But it never asks for the payoff date.  Is there a place for that?

You are not meant to put in a date into that field.

It is asking for the outstanding mortgage balance either on the last day of the year or on the payoff date (if it was paid off during the year such as with being refinanced or just paid off).  The wording is a little confusing.

There is not a place to enter the payoff date.

I agree, wording is confusing! Just what we need when doing taxes - more confusion! 😉 I spent a lot of time trying different scenarios for that just to see if I could make TurboTax prompt for a payoff date. Perhaps they can make that a little more clear in a future update, and I will gladly make that suggestion elsewhere if I could be directed to the appropriate site for that. In any case, I won't worry about it any more. Thank you very much for your answer. 🙂
