The TurboSM Prepaid Visa® Card is one of the easiest ways to get your tax refund after filing with TurboTax Online. It’s a reloadable prepaid Visa card that can be used everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted in the U.S.—including online, by phone, and in stores.

Wondering how we get your refund onto the Turbo Prepaid Visa Card?
When you choose to get your Federal tax refund deposited to a Turbo Prepaid Visa Card, TurboTax works with Green Dot to get the right account info to the IRS (and/or the State) to make sure the money gets put on your card. As soon as the IRS approves your refund, the money gets electronically deposited to your card—simple as that!

TurboTax also offers a on a Turbo Prepaid Visa Card to some customers. If you are eligible and approved for a Refund Advance, you will typically receive your advance within 48 hours of the IRS accepting your return. Selecting the Turbo Prepaid Visa Card for your refund when you file your taxes does not submit an application for Refund Advance. You must select Refund Advance when you file your taxes to apply for a Refund Advance.

Not expecting a refund?
Getting a Turbo Prepaid Visa® Card still has plenty of perks that can save you time and money. With the Turbo Prepaid Visa Card, you can get payroll up to 2 days early or government benefits up to 4 days early with ASAP Direct Deposit™ (subject to your payment provider’s process and timing), instantly send money to friends and family anywhere in the nation, conveniently pay bills while on the go, and so much more!

How does ASAP Direct Deposit work?

We load your pay when your employer or benefits provider gives us early notice you have money coming. Not every employer or benefits provider gives us early notice every payday, but many do.

People come to TurboTax AnswerXchange for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:

  1. Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English.
  2. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
  3. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link.
  4. Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome.
  5. Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.
