Why can't I password protect my 2017 Turbotax tax files by using encrypt to password protect my MacBook desktop 2017 turbotax tax files?

I followed the encrypt steps to password protect my 2017 tax files as suggested by your web posting, but when I opened my tax files none of them asked for my password as if they were not password protected.  What should I do?

That is a Mac keychain option to remember the password so you do not need to enter it.  (The default should be NO in my opinion, but it is Apple that does that.)

Apple assumes that you already password protect your user account so once you are logged in then it will automatically enter keychain passwords.
