I only see the solar options still as well - how do we get this to update?

Did you receive a response to this?   This is totally frustrating after spending so much time looking for a way to do this.

I chatted with someone from support yesterday and they gave me this link - <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4288164-resident-energy-credit-form-5695-not-available-to-file">ht...>. Looks like they are targeting 3/2. Hope this helps!

Yes!  There is a tax credit for energy efficient windows. Please review the following list of home improvements that would qualify:

Nonbusiness Energy Property Tax Credit

Equipment and materials can qualify for the Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit only if they meet technical efficiency standards set by the Department of Energy. The manufacturer can tell you whether a particular item meets those standards. For this credit, the IRS distinguishes between two kinds of upgrades.

The first is "qualified energy efficiency improvements," and it includes the following:
  • Home insulation
  • Exterior doors
  • Exterior windows and skylights
  • Certain roofing materials
The second category is "residential energy property costs." It includes:
  • Electric heat pumps
  • Electric heat pump water heaters
  • Central air conditioning systems
  • Natural gas, propane or oil water heaters
  • Stoves that use biomass fuel
  • Natural gas, propane or oil furnaces
  • Natural gas, propane or oil hot water boilers
  • Advanced circulating fans for natural gas, propane or oil furnaces

Details of nonbusiness tax credit

You can claim a tax credit for 10% of the cost of qualified energy efficiency improvements and 100% of residential energy property costs. However, significant limits apply:

  • This credit is worth a maximum of $500 for all years combined, from 2006 to the present.
  • Of that combined $500 limit, a maximum of $200 can be for windows.
  • The maximum tax credit for a furnace circulating fan is $50.
  • The maximum credit for a furnace or boiler is $150.
  • The maximum credit for any other single residential energy property cost is $300.

I put new energy efficient windows in last year. I am using Turbo Tax Premiere and it only list "solar" energy improvements under the home energy improvments section. Where is the nonbusiness energy property tax credit?

I found this on the Turbo Tax website...hope this helps.

Open your return, if you don't already have it open.
In TurboTax, search for energy improvements. (Do not search for "energy credit," as this will take you to the wrong place in the program.)
Click the "Jump to" link in the search results.
At the bottom of the Energy-Saving Home Improvements screen, answer Yes and continue. Follow the on-screen instructions.

I'm having the same problem in that we installed energy efficient windows but I can't find a way to enter that information.  Turbo Tax seems more interested in steering you to paying their CPA for something that should be readily available on their preparation program.

Same problem. How do i fill out the second page of form 5695 so I can enter this deduction on line 19. (Or otherwise using step-by-step instructions for energy efficient window credit)
