Hi. This is our first year married and filing jointly. Is there a way to combine our turbotax accounts so we can access both of our returns from last year? Thanks!

No. That's just not possible. It's highly recommended that you create a completely new account for your first year filing joint. The other option is to use only one of your accounts so you can import that information, and then manually enter all necessary data for the new spouse. For whichever account you use, the holder of that account will always be the primary tax payer and the one that must be listed first on the return from that point forward. It's an IRS computer thing, to where if you change or swap the primary or secondary tax filers, the IRS computer's can't deal with that very well.

One additional tip: if you choose to import one of last year's returns, choose the one that's the most complicated.

Awesome. Thank you. We need to access her return from last year for mortgage purposes, so I was hoping to save some $.
