The county wheel/surcharge ("COUNTY VEHICLE WHEEL TAX") is not deductible.
The only vehicle registration fees that are deductible are those based on the value of the vehicle.
The IN "County Wheel Tax" is based on the type and weight of a vehicle, not the value of the vehicle. See: INDIANA COUNTY VEHICLE EXCISE TAX AND
WHEEL TAX for an example of how the tax is calculated.

This is not necessarily correct. You can see that by going to Marian County, it says the excise tax for Passenger vehicle is "10%; Minimum of $7.50"

The question was "Is the county wheel/surcharge deductible?" Marian County does not have a Wheel Tax. They have a Vehicle Excise Tax which is based on the value of the vehicle and is deductible.

"County Vehicle Excise/Wheel Tax" is NOT deductible. The 10% you quote is based on the weight of the vehicle, NOT the value... Read the website carefully.
