Why am I not getting my discount for TurboTax from my bank or financial institution?

We are currently experiencing an issue where customers who are offered a discount for TurboTax Online from their bank or financial institution are not receiving the discount.

Customers who are offered a discount for TurboTax through their financial institution are given a link to TurboTax Online. Through this link new customers can create a TurboTax account to start, prepare, and e-file their taxes. Customers who create their accounts via the "Start for free" button are not receiving their promised discount. However, customers who sign into an existing account by clicking "Sign-in" receive their discounts. 

Workaround

If you are experiencing this issue please follow these steps:

  1. Sign-out of your newly created account.
  2. Go to your financial institution's website and click on the link to TurboTax
  3. Click the "Sign-in" button
  4. Sign into your newly created account and your discount will be applied.
