Florida does not have a state income tax. Only people who have Florida
businesses or rental property with tangible personal property have to
file a DR-405 with the county property appraiser by April 1.
If you don't have a Florida business or rental property with such tangible personal property, then you do not have to file a Florida return. You can delete the Florida return before paying and filing if it's not needed.

If I have self-employment income - do I have to file state income tax in Florida?
No. Florida does not have income tax.
If I am self-employed and bought a few pieces of equipment for business purposes and fully deprecated them would I need to file Florida taxes?
I am a realtor and was 1099 under a brokerage all of last year if that helps. I did create a few LLCs in December for operations this year but not last year.
If you own equipment for business purposes, you may need to file a tangible personal property tax return. It is a property tax and will apply whether or not the property is fully depreciated.

See the Florida Tangible Personal Property Guide for additional information.
this is exactly what happened to me and not ONLY that, when I DID select "submit florida return", turbotax charged me $39 AND hasn't given me anything to mail to the florida tax department, which I could've predicted because I never have to file state taxes but turbotax made me via the form loop! I'm seriously upset and frustrated. Choosing another product next time after three years...last year with turbotax for me once I get this refunded and figured out.
