Not sure if I should depreciate a computer I bought in 2016 or just take the business expense. I am self-employed. computer cost aroun $700. Use primarily for business.

Expense it and be done with it. Depreciating $700 over 7 years has zero impact on your tax liability. Even over 5 years, it "might" reduce your liability by a buck or two. Not worth the effort. Just expense it and call it good.
