I graduated 2015. I have worked unpaid internships, but did not work a job in 2016. I have been making student loan payments from my savings. Do I file taxes for 2016?

As a follow up question: I just signed up with medi-cal and have a healthcare plan with them. I will be inputing my 2016 1098-E with them shortly. Will filing my 2016 taxes, even though I'd just be reporting my 1098-E, effect my coverage/account with them?

Generally, if you have
no income and did not receive your health insurance through a government exchange
(Obama care), then you do not have to file a tax return for 2016, click here for IRS website which includes filing requirements.

Thanks, and just so I'm clear: is Medi-Cal a government exchange?
