I have Mac OS 10.12.3 on a new iMac and cannot open Turbo Tax 21016. Everything is the same as 2015 but it will not open.

Have checked Security/Privacy preferences and turned off firewall etc. but nothing works and I cannot open Deluxe 2016 with Mac OS 10.12.3 

The TurboTax name flashes for a second and then disappears and will not open. What can I do?

Exactly what problem are you having?

Is the user account that you are using an administrator account?

It is downloaded from a disk into my applications folder and when I try to open it "TurboTax" flashes momentarily next to the apple at the top of the screen then goes blank and will not open. I had ordered from Amazon at first with a download and no disk, that I could open but it was "read only" and I couldn't import last years info. I asked Amazon for a refund and that they sent me a disk instead, thinking there was something wrong with the downloaded program. Now I can't open it at all.

I've checked security/privacy, turned off firewall and have done everything I can think of. I have no problem with 2015 and side by side it is the same as 2016. I think it may be something with our brand new iMac and some block done by something in the operating system but I don't know what.

Make sure that the CD is not in the CD drive.  Restart the Mac.  Follow the directions in the link I provided above (right click to open the first time if using Sierra and only from an administrator account).

If that does not work, the totally uninstall and re-install since a support file might be corrupt.

Corruption could have occurred in the Application or in an associated preference or support file.   To uninstall the application and all associated files need to be deleted and then the application reinstalled.  If there was a state then the state must also be reinstalled.

The first download from Amazon might have caused the problem - I think others have had problems with Amazon downloads corrupting a support file.   The uninstall worked for them.

I did the uninstall and at least I can now use Turbotax but still can't import last years, but that's not the worst. Thanks,

You can only transfer 2015 at the start with the "Begin" screen.   You most select the xxx.tax2015 file from the file list or the search for  file.

This doesn't work for me. I just got a new iMac, running MacOS 10.12.6. Neither TurboTax Deluxe 2015 or 2016 will open on the new machine. I did a complete uninstall as stated above and re-downloaded TTD2015 and 2016 from the Intuit site. No good.  I try to open these Apps and nothing happens.  Apple says it is a problem with the software. Intuit says to delete the Apps and re-install. I have done that about 10 times already and no go.

Usually the problem is either not an administrator user or a preference or support file is  corrupt.
