I got an email about having changed my password or phone number but I’m not sure it’s real

If you’re worried about an email you received from us being fake or someone having hacked your account, there’s an easy way for you to make sure.

You can check your account activity where most events related to your account’s security will be listed—such as when you’ve signed in or changed things like your password or phone number. An email from us is marked with a small envelope (email icon) and gives the reason we sent it.

  • Click My Account.
  • From the drop-down menu, select Account Settings.
  • On the Account Settings screen, select the Security tab.
  • Click View on the Account Activity line.
