Does filing form 8379 for injured spouse delay my refund

I have outstanding student loans but I am disabled waiting for benefits.  My husband is the only income.  We filed form 8379 for I Jared spouse for 2016.  Will this hold up his refund?

Yes.  From the 8379 instructions"

Generally, if you file Form 8379 with a joint return on paper, the time needed to process it is about 14 weeks (11 weeks if filed electronically)
